Blossoms II, The Art of Flowers, Kellogg Gallery
The Susan K. Black Foundation  (www.susankblackfoundation.org) and David J. Wagner, L.L.C. are pleased to present, BLOSSOM  II ~ ART OF FLOWERS.  BLOSSOM II is the second in an on-going series of traveling exhibitions of artworks depicting and interpreting flowers of all kinds.  Flowers have been portrayed by artists for centuries.  Perhaps best known in classical art are the flowers featured in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish still-life paintings.  In the Twentieth Century, flowers served as an inspiration and source of imagery for one of the most beloved and well-known American artists who focused on flowers, Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986).  Today, flowers inspire artists as much as ever, as evidenced by the floral art of the late Susan K. Black (1946–2000), and members of botanical art organizations worldwide.

To encourage participation, The Susan K. Black Foundation opened the competition to anyone worldwide, and offered generous awards.  In response, nearly 1,350 artists from 35 countries entered some 2,300 entries to  BLOSSOM II.

BLOSSOM II ~ ART OF FLOWERS information is available from the Exhibition Tour Office, David J. Wagner, L.L.C., at davidjwagnerllc.com, or by emailing: davidjwagnerllc@ yahoo.com
