ArtCenter Manatee is Manatee County's premiere visual arts center featuring the artwork of many talented
local, state and national
artists. Exhibitions change monthly in the three large galleries and the public is always welcome
to the opening receptions to
preview the artwork and meet the artists.
| Congratulations to the following ArtCenter Manatee members whose work was accepted to the Florida Watercolor Annual Exhibit. The exhibit is being held at the Leepa-Rattner Museum in Tarpon Springs from Sept. 12 Nov. 7, 2010.

Native and Wild!

ArtCenter Manatee is going native and wild with the work of three local painters and a photographer from California in a show curated by Sarasota artist Julie Trigg, a First Place winner in the National Pen Women Art Show whose current works are oil paintings ranging from cows to philodendrons. Most of her paintings deal with the way she interprets life and/or events that affect us on a daily basis. They are not always autobiographical but may be just thoughts or observations that she has carried around in her head for months or years before putting them down on canvas.
Joining Julie are award winning painters Jamie Friedli and Susan Klein and photographer Michael Sandiford.
Jamie Friedli is exhibiting abstract acrylic paintings that she has created in the past couple of years. She likes to explore motion and use bright colors, because for her painting is a celebration of life. Jamie has an extensive background as an instructor in multiple mediums and has juried numerous art exhibits throughout Florida.
Susan Klein, who is celebrated for her landscapes of Myakka River State Park and other Florida scenes, is presenting a fresh point of view with her recently completed paintings from her visits to National Parks. She has received various awards and honors including the selection of one of her paintings for display at the American Embassy in Rome.
California photographer Michael Sandiford completes the show with his images of Florida wildlife. He often waits for hours to capture just the right moment when a bird spreads its wings or the light is perfect. He has shown his works in many galleries throughout southwest Florida.
The galleries are open Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9 AM to 6 PM.
