Beginning and Beyond

The instructor will discuss and demonstrate forming and decorating techniques using the potter’s wheel, slab rollers, extruders, stamps, handbuilding, and coils, slips and glazes to create mugs, bowls, plates, vases, tiles, sculptures, holiday ornaments, signs, candle holders and oil lamps, or whatever idea you come up with. All levels of pottery students are welcome. Make a good pot but also have an enjoyable experience. Class fees include up to 25lbs of clay, glazes and firing fees.

Faces, Figures and Beyond - Supply List

Come learn easy techniques of sculpting the human face and figure in clay. Helene works individually with each student. She encourages beginners and challenges experienced students. Let your creative juices flow in this failurefree environment. If a model is used, the model’s fee will be divided among the class members as an additional fee for that class. Sculpture class fees include up to 25lbs of clay, glazes and firing fees. Check Supply List.

Every week learn a new technique: Week 1 Tiles and Molds, Week 2 Slip and Glaze application and formulation; Week 3 candlesticks and oil lamps; Week 4 Wind chimes and whistles; Week 5 getting started on the potter’s wheel. Class fees include up to 25lbs of clay, glazes and firing fees.

Explore Raku techniques, using both fire and smoke to create unique and unpredictable surface color on sculpted, hand-built or wheel-thrown clay forms. No experience necessary! Class fees include up to 25lbs of clay, glazes and firing fees.

Bowls, Dishes and More...

In this sessions you will enjoy the process of making your own dishes but the feeling of using them in your everyday life will be enjoyed forever. The instructor will assist you throughout the whole process with demonstrations and samples. Bring your own sketches and/or ideas and we’ll go from there... Wouldn’t it be awesome to drink your morning coffee out of your self-made mug? or have your cereal served in your favorite bowl made by you? C’mon, give it a try! Class fees include up to 25lbs of clay, glazes and firing fees.

Tea Time

Learn the basics to build a lovely teapot assembling wheel-thrown parts. With clear demonstrations, the instructor will guide you through every step to make your own complete ceramic tea set while learning some background knowledge about the history behind tea ceremonies. If you like to be part of this awesome group sign up and you’ll be in for more than just some tea! Class fees include up to 25lbs of clay, glazes and firing fees.

Pottery Open Studio

The pottery studio is available for use during regular business hours
when a class is not in session. The pottery studio is for the use of
current pottery students and members only. There is a fee of $5.00
for 3 hours of open studio time if you are not currently enrolled in a
pottery class. You must register for open studio by signing in and
out at the front desk and the fee must be paid when you sign in.
You must provide your own materials. Clay may be purchased for $35 per 25 lbs. This price includes glazes and firing.
