Discover the fabulous creative magic of polymer clay! It’s like coloring in 3-D! Basic clay techniques will be covered, as well as introducing fresh and
innovative techniques for new and old clayers. Bead making, mokume gane
and simple caning are some of the skills you will learn. You’ll have the freedom
to choose (create?) your own projects in which to apply your newly learned
techniques. Join us in this fun and relaxed class!

All Wired Up - Wire and Bead Jewelry - Supply List

Learn to create unique jewelry using brightly colored copper wire and beads.
Includes ornamental wraps, coiling, spirals, using wire jigs, building your own
findings, making chains and basic wire wraps for cabochons. Make beautiful
necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and more in this fun workshop. Materials
list given on signup.

Kumihimo Jewelry

Working with both round and square looms, you’ll learn different patterns for
weaving kumihimo cords, then how to add beads to your patterns, and even
build a wire kumihimo bracelet and different ways to create your own clasps
and findings. Ask for materials list when you register.

All Wired Up - Wire and Bead Jewelry - Supply List

Using brightly colored copper wire and beads, learn to make your own
necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and findings. Class instruction includes

Metal Clay Studio

Metal Clay is a new material whose properties and potential have stimulated
creativity in the art of jewelry. Learn new techniques, practice skills, and
participate in design challenges in this studio class for all levels of metal
clay artists and all brands of metal clay. Artists should bring their own tools,
sketchbook and choice of clay. Beginners must complete an orientation with
Denise before first class. Firing options will be available during and outside of
class depending on type of clay used.

Basics of Enameling

Learn basic techniques of enameling on copper including sifting, sgraffito,
stenciling, and wet packing technique for cloisonne. Create brilliantly colored
pendants and charms using the ancient art of enamels.

Bronze Metal Clay Jewelry - Supply List

Bronze Clay, one of the newest metal clays on the market, makes precious
metal clay an affordable medium for anyone. In this five week beginner’s
class, you will learn how to build jewelry in metal clay using stamps and
molds, set stones in PMC, and build a hollow lentil bead. Create your own
pendants, earrings, and beads in gleaming golden bronze and learn skills that
can be used in any metal clay.

Advanced Bronze Metal Clay Jewelry - Supply List

You’ve got the basics down, now let’s learn some advanced techniques in
metal clay. Ring making, bezels for stones, carving dry clay, and building
complex construction will be covered in this advanced bronze metal clay
class. We’ll also cover adding color to your pieces with various techniques,
including patinas, resins, and enamels.

Jewelry Open Studio
The jewelry studio is available for use by members of ArtCenter
Manatee who have successfully completed a Silver I jewelry
class at ArtCenter Manatee. The open studio fee is $10 per
half day. Jewelry open studio is scheduled monthly with a
studio monitor so please call 746-2862 for studio times and to
register. Evening open studios must be paid for at the time of
registration.
Studio space is limited - Please register at least 24 hours prior
to your desired Open Studio time.
Fees:
ACM members:
1/2 day $10.00 per person
Full day $20.00 per person
FSG members:
1/2 day $5.00 per person
