COLOR Simplified

Open to ALL media such as pastels, watercolors, acrylics or oils.
Learn to apply more practical and meaningful ways to use color to
enhance your artistic color style. The Beginner’s course will remove
your inhibitions and explain how and why certain color techniques work
for particular situations so you can apply them into your artwork! You
will learn the 6-color wheel, combining temperature with value, mixing
colors more effectively for a richer, unified whole picture. Students are
to bring their usual art supplies for their primary choice of medium.
A painting will be created each class. Also these classes are sequential
learning.

Sensuous Line: The Art of Calligraphy

Have you ever wanted to add text to your artwork or to enhance a favorite
quote in a creative way? This class unlocks the secrets of the art of handlettering
by mastering alphabets both ancient and modern. In various
creative exercises we will explore the beauty of line and motion that can
be found even in your personal handwriting, and adapt these to your
preferred medium. All skill levels are welcome; you will be encouraged to
grow from wherever you are.

Tapestry 101

Enter the wonderful world of weaving in this 5 week introductory class.
Students will weave a sampler and learn the most common tapestry
techniques; how shapes are made and the use of different fibers. At
the end of the session students will have enough basic knowledge to
experiment on their own.
The class fee includes all materials necessary for the class: yarn, tools, pre-warped
frame looms.

Breaking glass has never been more fun! Learn the basics of copper foil
technique stained glass from local artist Sandy French. In five classes
you will learn to grind, foil, solder and finish a suncatcher and small panel
perfect for a kitchen window.
Materials for the class (including used tools) will be made available at a discounted
price at the first class.
