"Serendipity A Fiber Artist's Journey"
In the Searle Gallery
Fabric collage works by Robin Bowman, award winning regional and national juried artist.
Robin Bowman creates colorful mixed-media fabric collages, using her hand-dyed cloth, threads and fibres. Her textile work is characterized by
hand stitched embellishments including fabric beads and unique surface designs which promote texture
and dimension. Although she has always demonstrated a special love of the sea and its creatures, Robin's new work has evolved to include other nature themes and a flirtation with
abstraction and series work.
Her collection includes fine art originals,
limited edition prints, and a myriad of decorative accessories. Join the artist on April 18th - see what all the excitement is about!

"Intersections" an exhibit of paintings by Cheryl Moody.
April 28th - May 30th
Artist reception Friday, 5/2/08
New exhibition at ArtCenter Manatee’s ComCenter Gallery located at 9040 Town Center Parkway in Lakewood Ranch.
Cheryl Moody was born and raised on the riverbanks and beaches of the Manatee River and the Gulf of Mexico. Her Florida upbringing and travels to tropical climates have instilled in her paintings a sense of spontaneity and a warm colorful palette. The emphasis on painting on location challenges her to capture a fleeting, changing moment in time and place in an image of colors and shapes.
A many-detoured graduate of Florida State University, she has continued her studies locally at the art centers of Manatee and Longboat Key and also at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota and the National Academy School of Art in New York City. |
